Introduction
This red wine originates from France, specifically from the Rhone Valley region within the Cotes du Rhone appellation. Founded in 1859 by Antoine Ogier in Chateauneuf du Pape, Maison Ogier possesses over 160 years of history and has established itself as a key reference in the southern Rhone. The winery's philosophy is based on a sustainable viticulture approach and meticulous vineyard management to faithfully express the diversity of the region's terroirs, blending centuries-old tradition with modern innovation.
Wine Description
Ogier Heritage des Caves des Papes Cotes du Rhone displays a deep ruby red colour with bright reflections. The nose is expressive, elegant, and complex, offering aromas of small ripe red fruits such as cherry, raspberry, and strawberry, interlaced with notes of licorice, violet, and spicy touches. On the palate, the wine is full bodied and generous, with a silky texture and round, well integrated tannins that provide a fine structure. It is characterized by its harmonious balance between power and freshness, leading to a persistent finish marked by spices and a hint of vanilla. This blend is typically composed of Grenache, Syrah, and Mourvedre, with an ABV of approximately 14.5%. While the house is committed to sustainable development, this specific cuvee is generally not certified organic. The optimal drinking window extends from release through approximately five years.
