This rare release holds profound purpose. Distilled in Indiana and meticulously bottled by New Riff, this fifteen-year expression originally launched as a charity initiative to aid service industry workers navigating unprecedented hardship. It's an older-stock bottling that represents a sharp pivot away from the brand's proprietary craft offerings. Matured for a decade and a half, the liquid absorbed immense character from the charred oak.
You'll immediately notice the striking mahogany hue. Bottled in bond and left entirely non-chill filtered, the bourbon retains a heavy, luscious viscosity that clings to the glass. Unearthing a bourbon of this maturity requires patience, as the barrel influence is immense but remarkably well-integrated, slowly revealing oxidized fruit and deep earthiness. The extended resting period brilliantly tempered the fiery rye grain.
Balance defines this entire drinking experience. Expect a dynamic interplay between savory, matured wood notes and a lush, brooding sweetness that unfolds across your palate and refuses to dissipate quickly. This bottle stands as a formidable testament to exceptional barrel selection. Securing one isn't just luck; it remains a genuine triumph.
