Wrapper: Mexican San Andres Rosado Oscuro
Binder: Nicaraguan Corojo and Criollo
Filler: Nicaraguan Cuban-seed
Profile: Medium+
The My Father La Opulencia brings together two worlds of premium tobacco with remarkable precision. Released in 2017 and honored as #2 Cigar of the Year by Cigar Aficionado the following year, this 5 x 46 box-pressed Corona showcases one of the most luxurious blends in the My Father portfolio.
The cigar features a richly fermented Mexican San Andrés “rosado oscuro” wrapper that glistens with natural oils. Beneath it lies a dual binder of Corojo and Criollo, along with fillers grown from Cuban-seed tobaccos cultivated on the Garcia family’s famed Nicaraguan farms, including La Bonita, El Pedrero, and Las Lometas. This combination of Mexican and Nicaraguan components creates one of the most refined cross-country blends My Father has ever produced.
The flavor profile is layered and opulent, living up to its name. Expect cocoa, leather, espresso, anise, pepper, barnyard richness, sweet wood, chocolate, and creamy Nicaraguan spice. The draw is smooth, the smoke is dense and aromatic, and the complexity deepens as the cigar warms. Medium to full in body, the Corona size delivers a concentrated expression of the blend’s richness with perfect balance.
Presented in elegant boxes of twenty, La Opulencia is a must-have for enthusiasts who appreciate craftsmanship, heritage, and depth in a cigar.
