Moonbroch Ben Nevis 2010 15 Year Old is a single cask independent bottling released by the Alberta-based independent bottler Moonbroch. Distilled in 2010 at the historic Ben Nevis Distillery in the Scottish Highlands—renowned for its robust, complex, and full-bodied malt profile—this expression was matured for 15 years before being bottled at cask strength (55.0% ABV) without chill filtration or added color.
Food Pairing: Grilled ribeye steak, venison stew, strong aged Cheddar or Blue cheese, dark chocolate desserts, and sticky toffee pudding.
Tasting Notes : Rich golden amber in color. Offers a thick, oily, and heavy mouthfeel with full-bodied depth on the palate.
Nose : Robust notes of dark tropical fruit, malted barley, and beeswax, accompanied by espresso, dark chocolate, leather, and subtle earthy oak.
Palate : Rich and complex with initial flavors of dried fig, plum, cocoa powder, and sweet malt, balanced by baking spices, orange peel, and underlying oily minerality.
Finish : Long, warming, and persistent with lingering notes of dark cocoa, oak spice, dried fruit, and a soft touch of earthy maltiness.
Serve : Best enjoyed neat in a Glencairn glass at room temperature, or with a few drops of pure water to open up the high-proof aromas.
