Montelobos Pechuga Mezcal
Montelobos Pechuga mezcal is a distinctive and festive expression that honours the rich history and traditions of Oaxaca. Starting with their 100% Espadin Mezcal, Montelobos distils the spirit three times. The final distillation involves adding turkey breast, seasonal fruits, and spices, a process known as 'pechuga.' This unique technique imparts a floral and fruity dimension to the mezcal.
- The base of 100% Espadin agave provides a foundation of smoky and earthy notes
- The Pechuga process adds a delicate floral and fruity dimension, reminiscent of rose petals and candied fruit
- Hints of spice, such as cinnamon and clove, further enhance the complexity
- The texture is smooth and silky, with a long, lingering finish that leaves a lasting impression
The floral and fruity notes of this mezcal make it an excellent accompaniment to a variety of meals. Our personal favourite, grilled shrimp with a mango salsa. Montelobos Pechuga was awarded a Gold by the Beverage Institute in 2021.
