Privada Storytelling
The Montecristo Nicaragua Toro is the cigar that cemented AJ Fernandez’s collaboration with Montecristo as something truly historic. Taking the heritage of one of the world’s most iconic cigar brands and reimagining it through the bold terroir of Nicaragua, AJ created a cigar that speaks fluently in the language of strength, balance, and depth.
The Toro vitola highlights the harmony of Nicaragua’s four growing regions — Estelí for power, Jalapa for sweetness, Condega for balance, and Ometepe for volcanic richness. The result is a cigar that is unmistakably Montecristo in refinement, yet distinctly Nicaraguan in character.
Flavor Journey
The first third delivers cedar, espresso, and pepper. As the cigar warms, cocoa and earth develop alongside leather and subtle sweetness. In the second half, richness deepens with espresso and spice, finishing with a long, bold note of chocolate and wood.
Why It Belongs in Privada
Privada thrives on cigars that bridge eras, and the Montecristo Nicaragua Toro does just that. It honors the tradition of Montecristo while showcasing the artistry of Nicaragua’s best tobaccos. This cigar belongs in Privada because it embodies both legacy and innovation, offering members a taste of Montecristo reborn for modern palates.
