Millton La Cote Pinot Noir represents the pinnacle of New Zealand's Gisborne region and Millton Vineyards' commitment to organic and biodynamic winemaking practices. Crafted from meticulously selected Pinot Noir grapes grown on the estate's La Cote Vineyard, this wine captures the essence of the region's terroir and the varietal's inherent characteristics. The grapes for this wine are hand-harvested at optimal ripeness, ensuring the expression of vibrant fruit flavors and balanced acidity. After harvesting, the grapes undergo a gentle crushing and fermentation with indigenous yeasts, allowing for a natural and authentic expression of the vineyard's unique microclimate and soil composition. In the glass, Millton La Cote Pinot Noir reveals a brilliant ruby hue, with inviting aromas of ripe red berries, such as cherry and raspberry, mingling with subtle floral notes and hints of earthy spices. On the palate, the wine is elegant and refined, with silky tannins and a supple texture that envelops the senses. Flavors of dark cherries, cranberries, and wild strawberries are complemented by savory undertones of forest floor, dried herbs, and a touch of smokiness. The wine's vibrant acidity provides freshness and balance, while judicious oak aging adds layers of complexity, imparting nuances of vanilla, clove, and toast. With its seamless integration of fruit, acidity, and structure, Millton La Cote Pinot Noir offers a harmonious and lingering finish that lingers on the palate. It is a versatile wine that pairs beautifully with a range of dishes, from roasted poultry and grilled salmon to mushroom risotto and aged cheeses. Overall, Millton La Cote Pinot Noir exemplifies the artistry and passion of Millton Vineyards, delivering a wine of exceptional quality and distinction that showcases the unique terroir of Gisborne and the expressive nature of Pinot Noir.
