Mijenta is a young tequila house from the Highlands of Jalisco. Maestra Tequilera Ana Maria Romero Mena leads production. This Reposado Tequila rests six to eight months in a mix of casks. American oak, cherry wood and acacia each add their own touch.
In the glass it shows a light golden color. The nose is delicate and inviting, with vanilla first. Bergamot, honey, preserved fruit and orange blossom follow. On your tongue, rich cooked agave blends with honey and vanilla. A note of cacao nibs shows up mid-palate. The finish is long and generous.
Mijenta has collected serious praise in a short time. The Tasting Panel Magazine gave this reposado 99 points. The Spirits Business named it a Tequila & Mezcal Master in 2022. The International Wine & Spirit Competition has also honored Mijenta as Agave Producer of the Year.
The brand cares about its land and people, too. It is a certified B Corp, and it works closely with local growers. That care is a big part of why fans keep coming back to Mijenta.
Sip it neat or over one large cube to enjoy the honey and cacao. It makes a lovely tequila Old Fashioned or Espresso Martini. Serve it with grilled meats, tacos or a square of dark chocolate. It's a smart pick if you want a reposado that feels both gentle and rich. Find more favorites in our tequila brand lineup and wider spirit range.
