Mighty Leaf Organic Matcha is a finely ground ceremonial-grade green tea powder in a 1.5-ounce tin, prized for its vivid emerald color, creamy texture, and bright bittersweet floral notes.
This single-origin style matcha from Mighty Leaf is crafted for fans of traditional Japanese tea as well as modern matcha drinkers. The powder is stone-ground to a smooth, powdery consistency and packaged in a compact tin that keeps the flavor fresh. It’s labeled organic and positioned as a premium ingredient suitable for whisked matcha lattes, simple bowls of usucha, or culinary use in baking and smoothies.
What makes this matcha different from bagged green teas?
Mighty Leaf’s matcha is whole-leaf green tea that has been ground into a fine powder rather than cut and steeped in a bag. Because you consume the entire leaf, matcha delivers a fuller flavor profile—brighter green color and a creamier mouthfeel—compared with infusion-only teas.
- Finely ground powder for full-leaf consumption
- Ceremonial-grade quality for smooth texture
- Organic certification ensuring pesticide-free farming
- Compact 1.5 oz tin for freshness and portability
How do I prepare a classic bowl or a matcha latte?
Preparation depends on whether you prefer a traditional whisked bowl (usucha) or a modern latte. For usucha, sift and whisk with hot water until frothy; for lattes, dissolve matcha in a small amount of hot water then combine with steamed milk or plant-based milk.
- Usucha: 1/2 to 1 teaspoon matcha, 2 oz hot water, whisk into froth
- Latte: 1 teaspoon matcha, 1–2 tbsp hot water to form paste, add 6–8 oz steamed milk
- Tip: sift powder first to avoid clumps and achieve silky texture
- Use a bamboo whisk or small electric frother for best foam
What flavor and aroma should I expect from this Mighty Leaf matcha?
This matcha shows a bright, emerald-green hue and balances a sweet, creamy base with subtle bittersweet and floral top notes. The texture is creamy rather than astringent when prepared correctly, making it versatile for both straightforward tea bowls and blended drinks or desserts.
- Appearance: vivid emerald-green powder
- Palate: creamy mouthfeel with bittersweet and floral accents
- Versatility: works well hot, iced, or in recipes
- Consistency: finely ground for smooth suspension in liquids
How should I store this matcha to maintain freshness?
To retain aroma and color, keep the 1.5 oz tin sealed and stored in a cool, dark place, ideally refrigerated after opening. Matcha is sensitive to light, heat, and oxygen, so minimizing exposure extends its optimal flavor window.
- Keep tin tightly closed when not in use
- Store in a cool, dry, dark location; refrigerate after opening for longer freshness
- Use within a few weeks of opening for peak flavor
- Avoid moisture and direct sunlight to prevent clumping and color loss
Who is this for? Mighty Leaf Organic Matcha is suited to tea aficionados seeking a ceremonial-style powder without fuss, home baristas wanting a premium base for lattes, and cooks experimenting with matcha in baked goods and smoothies. If you value vivid color, a creamy texture, and certified organic sourcing in a compact 1.5-ounce tin, this matcha delivers a convenient, high-quality option for daily enjoyment or occasional ceremonial use.
