Merce Carme continues to showcase the best of Spain. Our 2020 Verdejo is light, balanced, and tropical, with charming floral aromas. This lesser-known grape variety is synonymous with Spanish culture, where it is often found at the dinner table partnered with spicy prawns, jamón ibérico, or grilled vegetables. The region’s warm Mediterranean climate allows for steady ripening in the vineyard, while a mix of limestone and clay soils keep vines hydrated and cool to protect them from the intense daytime heat. Our Spanish winemaking partners emphasized Verdejo’s signature, refreshing aromatics, and nuanced flavor profile by fermenting this wine in stainless steel. This is the perfect wine to gently coax a Sauvignon Blanc lover out of their comfort zone. It brings the same versatility and elegance to a chilled glass at the end of a long day while adding an exciting sense of exotic allure.
