The Meraki 58mm Bottomless Portafilter strips away the spouts so you can watch the shot leave the basket exactly as it happens. It pairs a solid stainless steel body with a turned walnut handle, and it is the single cheapest way to find out what your puck prep is actually doing.
With a standard portafilter you only see the result. Bottomless, you see the cause: a spray from one side means an uneven tamp, a jet through the middle means channelling, early blonding means the grind is too coarse. Fix what you can see, and the shots get better fast.
Features
- Naked extraction view: The open base exposes the underside of the basket, making channelling, spritzing and uneven flow immediately obvious instead of hidden behind a spouted bottom.
- Stainless steel body: Machined to the 58mm standard with enough mass to hold heat through the shot, so the first espresso of the session tastes like the third.
- Walnut handle: Real wood, shaped to sit comfortably in the hand and stay cool at the machine — a noticeable upgrade over moulded plastic.
- 18g basket compatible: Accepts standard 58mm baskets, including the 18g basket most home recipes are built around.
- Two fitments: Choose Gen 1 Compatible or Gen 2 Compatible to match your Meraki Dual Boiler — the two generations use different portafilter lugs, so select carefully before ordering.
Who It's For
Anyone dialling in a new grinder, learning WDT and distribution, or troubleshooting shots that taste thin without an obvious cause. It is a diagnostic tool first and a good-looking portafilter second.
