Introduction
This iconic red wine is produced in Australia, specifically within the broad South Eastern Australia region, sourcing fruit from notable areas such as the Riverland, Murray Darling, and Limestone Coast. McGuigan Wines is a cornerstone of the Australian wine industry with over 100 years and four generations of winemaking heritage in the Hunter Valley. The winery's philosophy is centred on a passion for 'The Love of Wine', a commitment that has seen them crowned International Winemaker of the Year a world-record four times at the International Wine & Spirits Competition (IWSC).
Wine Description
The McGuigan Shiraz Black Label presents a deep cherry red colour in the glass. The aromatic profile is lifted and fruit-forward, featuring dominant notes of ripe blackcurrant, plum, and red berry fruits, accented by hints of spice, mint, and subtle toast. On the palate, the wine is medium-bodied and rich, delivering intense flavours of blackberry jam, spicy plum, and cherry.
Stylistically, this 100% Shiraz is crafted for consistency and approachability, offering a well-rounded mouthfeel with smooth tannins and balanced acidity. The addition of vanilla and caramel notes adds depth, leading to a long, persistent, and satisfying finish. While designed for immediate enjoyment, its robust fruit character allows for a short drinking window over the next two to three years.
