The Matilde Oscura Toro Bravo is the boldest cigar in Matilde's boutique portfolio, handcrafted in the Dominican Republic at Tabacalera Palma. A dark Mexican San Andrés Oscuro wrapper surrounds a Sumatra binder and a complex blend of Dominican, Nicaraguan, and Pennsylvania tobaccos, creating a rich, full-bodied profile of dark chocolate, espresso, earth, black pepper, cedar, and subtle molasses sweetness.
Its generous 6½ × 54 Toro Bravo format allows the blend to evolve gradually, delivering a cool, deliberate smoke that rewards those who enjoy bold flavour and a longer smoking experience.
Fog & Flame Notes: The Oscura is built for smokers who appreciate richer, fuller cigars, but strength isn't its defining characteristic—balance is. The Mexican San Andrés wrapper delivers cocoa, espresso, and natural sweetness, while the Pennsylvania tobacco adds earthy depth and body that's uncommon in premium cigars.
Despite its full strength, the flavours remain layered and refined from beginning to end. You may even pick up an unusual savoury note reminiscent of charred meat—a characteristic some reviewers have noted in this blend.
