The 2017 Máté Brunello di Montalcino is a full-bodied, robust wine with a bright ruby red color and garnet reflections. It exhibits complex aromas of berries, leather, and tobacco, enhanced by floral hints and a touch of herbs. The palate features bold flavors of ripe red fruits, balanced by well-integrated tannins and vibrant acidity, with a spicy depth that adds elegance. The wine is known for its long, persistent finish, leaving an earthy impression along with lingering fruit and spice.
93 Points - James Suckling
A floral and fresh red with cherry and berry character and some floral undertones. Lavender and sandalwood too. It’s medium-bodied with a firmness and freshness. Pretty. Clean. From organically grown grapes. Better in a year or two.
93 Points Wine Spectator
Lively and elegant for the vintage, revealing strawberry, cherry, rose and mineral aromas and flavors. Turns leaner and more focused as it plays out on the long, fruity aftertaste. Offers plenty of structure, so it should develop beautifully. Best from 2024 through 2040.
