Tasting notes: Sweet orange, Redcurrant, Rooibos
Shyira is a washed Red Bourbon from Rwanda’s Nyabihu district, produced through Muraho Trading Company and the high-altitude Shyira washing station. Smallholders grow the coffee between 1,850 and 2,300 metres in a cool, cloudy and rain-heavy mountain environment. Muraho’s work in this demanding region focuses on improving quality while creating meaningful benefits for the farming communities behind the coffee.
The high elevation and washed processing give Shyira a clean structure and vivid fruit character. Roasted for espresso, it combines sweet orange and redcurrant with a gentle rooibos note and a juicy mouthfeel. The result is a bright yet balanced shot with enough sweetness and body to remain expressive both on its own and in milk-based drinks.
