When Hurricane Gilbert tore through the Caribbean back in 1988, the Jamaican cigar industry was decimated. At that time the quintessential Jamaican brand, Macanudo, looked like it would never recover. Luckily for us, operations were shifted to the Dominican Republic and the rest is history. Smooth, mellow and better than ever, the Macanudo Café Diplomat is a stunner!
The Macanudo Café Diplomat is a uniquely formed 4 ½” x 60 Figurado built around a core of luxurious Dominican Piloto Cubano and Mexican filler tobaccos which are expertly placed inside a Mexican binder leaf from San Andreas. Draped over it all is a shimmering Connecticut Shade wrapper leaf which puts the finishing touches on a purely gratifying smoke of 45 minutes or so.
As the Macanudo Café Diplomat settles into its mellow character, tantalizing wood and earth notes float onto the palate and are joined by tasty dashes of nut, toast and spice. An herbal nuance mingles with hints of sweet cream, as the mild-mannered smoke effortlessly cruises towards a silky smooth finish.
The Macanudo Café Diplomat is the ideal candidate for afternoon relaxations or Happy Hour gatherings, garnering votes for just about any time or place. At once mild and flavorful, the Macanudo Café Diplomat is a cigar that you can put your faith in each and every time you spark up.
