From Italy’s coastal region of Tuscany, in the renowned Bolgheri DOC, comes Le Serre Nuove Dell Ornellaia 2022. Produced by Tenuta dell Ornellaia, one of Italy’s most prestigious estates founded in 1981, the winery is celebrated for its Bordeaux-inspired blends crafted with Tuscan elegance. Now under the ownership of the Frescobaldi family, Ornellaia remains a benchmark for quality and terroir expression in Bolgheri.
Wine Description
This deep ruby-red wine opens with aromas of ripe blackcurrants, blackberries, violets, and hints of Mediterranean herbs. On the palate, it is medium to full bodied with plush fruit and refined tannins, showing layers of dark cherries, figs, and a touch of cocoa. Notes of cedar and sweet spice from barrique ageing (15 months, one-third new oak) add complexity without overpowering the fruit.
