The Miquel family are eighth-generation winemakers who have tended their vineyards in the heart of the Languedoc for many centuries. Laurent Miquel, who returned to the family domaine in 1996, focuses entirely on quality, believing it 'starts and ends in the vineyard'. The winery's philosophy respects the past while constantly seeking better, more natural, and sustainable ways to produce their wines, achieving comprehensive HVE Level 3 certification for their estates.
Wine Description
This is a single Pinot Noir varietal wine. It presents a bright and juicy sensory profile. On the nose and palate, you can find abundant red fruit notes, especially strawberry and cherry. Additional nuances include fresh mushroom and wild herb flavours, along with a touch of spice on the finish. The Solas line, named for the Irish word for 'light' (a reference to Laurent Miquel's Irish wife, Neasa) and the exceptional Mediterranean sunlight, aims for a wine that is distinct but carries a 'lightness in every drop'.
Food Pairing
This light and vegan-friendly Pinot Noir is an ideal match for light meats and light cheeses. Suggested pairings include roasted goose breasts on a red currant coulis, traditional charcuterie, or Bouillabaisse.
