Following a 72-hour fermentation and slow, controlled drying, it reveals a layered profile of citrus and caramel, accented by starfruit brightness. Lively, clean, and structured, it offers a cup that is both refreshing and memorable.
About Coffee
Café Granja La Esperanza is one of Colombia’s most respected and innovative coffee producers. The Herrera family has shaped its legacy over generations, beginning in 1945 when Juan Antonio Herrera and Blanca Ligia Correa introduced Bourbon and Caturra to the Potosí farm.
Today, the family is led by brothers Rigoberto and Luis Herrera, who manage several award-winning farms, including Las Margaritas, where this exceptional Geisha was grown. In 2008, after winning first place at Panama’s prestigious Best of Panama competition, Rigoberto brought Geisha seeds back to Colombia. This marked a new chapter for Granja La Esperanza, beginning their journey of cultivating rare varietals under Colombia’s challenging conditions with remarkable success.
Washed Processing
Only the ripest cherries are selectively hand-picked, floated to ensure density and quality, and measured for sweetness before fermentation. The cherries are pulped and fermented aerobically for 72 hours, then fully washed to highlight clarity and brightness. Drying takes place in mechanical driers over 3 to 5 days at a steady 38°C, after which the beans are carefully stored in climate-controlled warehouses at 18–19°C to preserve their vibrant character.
This washed Yellow Bourbon offers a smooth, citrus-driven, and delicately floral cup, showcasing the precision and craftsmanship that define Café Granja La Esperanza.
