Lake Breeze Albariño 2024 is a refreshing white wine from the Naramata Bench in the Okanagan Valley, British Columbia. Lake Breeze Vineyards, established in 1995, is one of the pioneers of the Naramata Bench and is currently led by winemaker Garron Elmes. The winery is known for its focus on clean, fruit-driven wines that capture the unique microclimate of the lakeside slopes. Albariño is a relatively new and exciting variety for the Okanagan, thriving in the region's warm days and cool desert nights.
Wine Description
Colour: The wine displays a pale straw colour with greenish highlights.
Aroma: The nose is highly aromatic and "spring-like," featuring bright notes of lime zest, green apple, and white peach, often accompanied by a distinct floral jasmine or honeysuckle scent.
Palate: On the palate, it is crisp and light-bodied, delivering a burst of citrus and stone fruit flavours.
Structure: It is characterized by its zesty, high acidity and a minerality that provides a clean, bracing finish.
Technical Details: The 2024 vintage was fermented entirely in stainless steel at cool temperatures to preserve the delicate aromatics. It typically has a moderate ABV of approximately 12.5% to 13%.
Style: This Albariño follows the classic Galician style—dry, lean, and focused on purity and tension rather than oak influence.
