Flavio Fanti, owner of the family estate La Palazzetta, represents one of Montalcino's elite sources of limited-production Brunello, a full-bodied red wine that comes in many shapes and sizes. His ten acres of Sangiovese Grosso in picturesque Castelnuovo dell 'Abate is home to several of the zone's finest parcels.
Colour: Ruby red tending to garnet
Aroma: Intense and enveloping, rich in aromas, with fruity notes of Mediterranean undergrowth, blackberry and blueberry that combine with hints of chocolate
Flavour: Full body with well-present tannins, good acidity, harmonious and elegant finish, persistent
92 Points - James Suckling
Restrained wine full of licorice root and red cherries, enhanced by a touch of smoky minerality. The palate is firm, with medium body, austere tannins and refreshing acidity. Balanced on the finish, yet powerful and stern. Drink from 2026.
