La Monarca Bakery Mexican Hot Chocolate Mix is a 32 oz bag of authentic, organic cacao-based mix blended with real cinnamon to recreate the rich, frothy chocolate de mesa served in traditional Mexican cafés.
Inspired by the recipes of La Monarca Bakery, this 2 lb pouch combines organic cacao beans and genuine cinnamon to deliver an aromatic, warmly spiced hot chocolate. It dissolves into hot milk or water for a thick, velvety cup, and it’s formulated to perform well when whisked for a frothy finish or used as a flavor base in recipes like champurrado and cafe de olla.
How does this mix create the authentic frothy texture of Mexican hot chocolate?
The mix is ground and balanced to dissolve smoothly into hot liquid, producing the dense mouthfeel traditional to chocolate de mesa. When whisked or beaten with a molinillo or frother, the cacao and cinnamon emulsify into a creamy, airy foam—exactly what you expect from a café-style serving.
- Formulated for thick texture when combined with hot milk or water
- Grinds fine enough to suspend and emulsify for froth
- Blends evenly with hand whisking or electric frothers
- Works for single cups or larger batches without graininess
Can I use this mix in recipes besides a simple hot drink?
Yes—this 32 oz mix is versatile in both beverages and baking. Its concentrated cacao and cinnamon profile enhances champurrado, chocolate atole, mochas, puddings, brownies, and sauces, making it a convenient pantry staple for traditional and modern preparations.
- Replace cocoa or chocolate in champurrado and atole recipes
- Add to coffee or espresso for a spiced mocha twist
- Fold into batters for cakes, cookies, and brownies for Mexican chocolate notes
- Stir into custards, ganaches, or dessert sauces for depth and warmth
What are the key ingredients and how do they affect flavor?
The primary components are organic cacao and real cinnamon, selected to create a balanced profile of deep chocolate and warming spice. The cacao brings roasted, slightly bitter chocolate complexity while the cinnamon delivers aromatic sweetness and a traditional Mexican flavor signature.
- Organic cacao provides rich chocolate depth and natural complexity
- Real cinnamon adds fragrant, warming spice without artificial notes
- Blended proportions aim for full-bodied taste, not overt sweetness
- Made to pair with milk, water, or other dairy alternatives
How should I prepare and store the mix for best results?
For a single serving, heat one cup of milk or water until steaming, whisk in 2–3 tablespoons of mix until smooth, and froth if desired. Store the sealed bag in a cool, dry place; reseal or transfer to an airtight container to preserve aroma and prevent clumping.
- Suggested ratio: 2–3 tablespoons mix per 8 oz milk or water
- Heat liquid before adding mix for quicker dissolution and less grit
- Use a molinillo, hand whisk, or electric frother for authentic foam
- Keep in an airtight container away from heat and humidity
Who is this for? La Monarca Bakery Mexican Hot Chocolate Mix suits anyone who loves authentic Mexican chocolate flavors—home baristas, bakers, and families seeking a richly spiced, award-winning bakery recipe in pantry-sized form. It’s ideal for people who want a convenient specialty mix that scales from single cups to party-sized batches, and for cooks who want to add genuine cacao and cinnamon character to drinks and desserts without sourcing multiple ingredients.
