The three-group Linea PB is the industry-standard commercial espresso machine for a reason. Built around the saturated group head — a thermosiphon design that keeps each brew group in constant thermal equilibrium with the coffee boiler — it eliminates the heat loss that makes lesser machines drift shot to shot. Two fully independent PID-controlled boilers mean it steams and brews simultaneously with no thermal compromise, across all three groups.
Key Features
- Saturated Group Heads: water never leaves the coffee boiler during brewing, so every group is always at temperature. This is why a PB holds its extraction through a two-hour rush rather than sagging halfway.
- Dual Independent Boilers: a 5 L coffee boiler and an 11 L steam boiler, each with its own PID. Two baristas on milk continuously never touch brew-side stability.
- Dual PID Temperature Control: set brew temperature and steam pressure independently from the digital display and adjust on the fly as you move between roasts.
- Digital Display: temperature readout, shot timers, flow pulse counter and intuitive programming.
- SmartSteam (optional): adds a temperature sensor to the steam wand that cuts pressure automatically when the milk hits your target.
- Eco / Standby Mode: scheduled standby to cut energy draw outside service hours.
Choosing your configuration
- Auto Volumetric (AV): programmable volumetric doses per group with flow-meter control, so every shot stops at the same yield regardless of who is on bar.
- Auto Brew Ratio (ABR): adds integrated scales in the drip tray. Brew by volume, by mass, or by brew ratio — the biggest single lever on consistency across a three-group bar with rotating staff.
- Mechanical Paddle (MP): a manual paddle per group giving the barista direct control over pre-infusion and flow. No volumetrics, no electronics in the shot path.
Ideal For
- High-volume specialty coffee bars and third-wave cafés
- Hotel lobbies, restaurants and airport lounges requiring reliability at pace
- Training academies and barista competition preparation
- Multi-barista sites running a sustained morning peak
Requires a dedicated 50 A circuit. Looking for per-group temperature control? That is the Linea PBX, which replaces the PB's shared coffee boiler with an independent saturated boiler for each group.
