The GB5 X is the GB5 with its brew architecture rebuilt. Same chassis, same design language, same footprint — but instead of one shared coffee boiler feeding both groups, each group gets its own independent 1.3 L saturated boiler with a dedicated 800 W element. Two coffees, two temperatures, at the same time.
What the X gives you over the S
- Independent saturated boiler per group: set group one for a light, high-acidity single origin and group two for a darker blend, and hold both. On a shared-boiler machine you pick one temperature and compromise on everything else.
- Pro Touch steam wands as standard: high-performance wands that stay cool to the touch. On the GB5 S these are a special-order upgrade; here they ship fitted.
- Dimmable barista lights as standard: not tied to configuration as they are on the S — every GB5 X gets them.
- Piero group caps: a re-engineered internal water path and repositioned flow meter for better dose accuracy and easier service.
- Dual PID and insulated boilers: independent PID on the coffee and steam circuits, with a 7 L steam boiler that does not flinch when both wands are open.
- Hot water economizer, easy-rebuild steam valve, 24 V electronics, Eco mode, USB firmware and Pro App connectivity.
Choosing your configuration
- AV (Auto-Volumetric): programmable volumetric doses per group with Piero group caps and flow-meter control.
- ABR (Auto Brew Ratio): adds precision scales built into the drip tray with Drip Prediction technology, which compensates for the coffee still dripping after the pump stops. Programme a brew ratio and the machine hits it by mass rather than volume.
Best suited to
Multi-roaster cafés, roastery flagships, hotel and restaurant programmes running more than one espresso, and competition-minded bars that want per-group temperature control in the GB5's design language rather than the Linea's.
