La Aurora Family Creed Fuerte Sol | Box Pressed Robusto | Dominican Republic
The name Fuerte Sol, meaning "strong sun," is inspired by the motto of the León family that has run La Aurora since 1903: "We are a proud family of rural origin, forged with persistent work under a strong sun." The first release in the four-part Family Creed Series, Fuerte Sol marks a bold new direction for the oldest cigar factory in the Dominican Republic, featuring a Mexican San Andrés wrapper over a Nicaraguan binder and a filler blend of Dominican, Nicaraguan, and Pennsylvania tobaccos, box-pressed for a smooth, consistent draw from start to finish. Rated 96 points and named the number 24 cigar of 2025, this release announced to the world that La Aurora was ready to play on a whole new level.
Fuerte Sol opens with a creamy top note followed by cedar, salted nuts, cocoa, and citrusy sweetness, with earthy and leathery flavors adding depth throughout. The profile crescendos with a delicious note of caramel on the finish, delivering an even temperament from start to finish that makes it as approachable for newer smokers as it is satisfying for the seasoned aficionado.
