Whisky of Blood sits at the gentler, fruitier end of Kyrö's Game of Thrones collection, built entirely from malted Finnish rye. Maturation takes place in ex-bourbon casks before a finishing period in French oak, a combination that rounds the grain's spice with creamy sweetness and clear fruit character. At 46.0% ABV, it reads as a softer interpretation of the distillery's rye house style without losing definition.
The nose leads with bright cereals and crisp apple, followed by apricot, tonka bean, chestnut and beeswax. Sweet fruit arrives first on the palate, sitting over rye spice alongside roasted chestnut, crème brûlée and toasted grain. The finish runs medium-long on crème brûlée, roasted cereal and a mild rye warmth, while the French oak adds lift and a fine-grained fruitiness that keeps this 700 ml bottling easy to drink and layered at once.
