Kula Organic Rum. Kula Distillery, Maui, Hawai'i — USDA Certified Organic, naturally gluten-free Hawaiian rum distilled from high-quality organic cane sugar and deep ocean mineral water drawn from 3,000 feet beneath the Pacific off the coast of Maui.
Kula Distillery takes its name from the fertile upland region of Maui — Kula, on the slopes of Haleakalā — a growing area famous for its exceptional produce and volcanic soil. The distillery brings this agricultural philosophy to rum: USDA Certified Organic production using only high-quality organic cane sugar and deep ocean mineral water, sourced from 3,000 feet beneath the Pacific Ocean off the Kona coast. Deep ocean water is extraordinarily pure and mineral-rich, filtered by centuries of slow movement through volcanic strata, and it brings a distinctive mineral quality to the spirits made with it.
The Kula Organic Rum is the foundation expression of the distillery — a clean, approachable rum designed for versatile cocktail use or sipping, with the USDA Organic certification guaranteeing that no synthetic pesticides, herbicides, or chemical fertilizers touched the sugarcane at any stage of production. Naturally gluten-free. The result is a Hawaiian rum that delivers genuine tropical character alongside the clean, pure quality that deep ocean water and organic production can achieve.

Frequently Asked Questions
- What makes Kula Organic Rum different? Three things: USDA Certified Organic production using only organic cane sugar; deep ocean mineral water sourced from 3,000 feet beneath the Pacific off Maui; and genuine Hawaiian distillation on the slopes of Haleakalā. Together they produce a rum with distinctive purity and mineral character.
- What is deep ocean water? Water drawn from 3,000 feet beneath the Pacific Ocean — extraordinarily pure, cold, and rich in minerals from centuries of slow movement through volcanic strata. It is one of the purest water sources on earth and imparts a distinctive mineral freshness to spirits made with it.
- Is Kula Rum truly made in Hawaii? Yes — Kula Distillery is located on Maui, Hawai'i, and distills its rum on-site using Hawaiian ingredients and Pacific ocean water.
- What cocktails work best with Kula Organic Rum? Daiquiri, Mojito, Mai Tai, or any tropical cocktail calling for a clean, smooth rum base. Its organic character and deep ocean water minerality make it more interesting than standard neutral white rums in simple applications.
- What does USDA Certified Organic mean for rum? Every input in the production process — the sugarcane, the growing practices, the processing — must meet USDA Organic standards. No synthetic pesticides, herbicides, or chemical fertilizers. The certification is verified by an independent third party.
