This celebrated bottle is the reason Kavalan earned the title of "World's Best Single Malt Whisky" in 2015. Presented in a beautiful gift set, this is a truly pivotal expression in the world of whisky. The spirit is fully matured in Vinho Barrique casks—used wine barrels that undergo a special Shave, Toast, Re-char (STR) process. This method fundamentally changes the wood. Taiwan’s incredibly hot and humid climate is a crucial factor. The tropical heat forces the spirit deep into the newly treated oak, extracting astonishingly intense fruit and spice notes at a dizzying pace.
It is a whisky of profound complexity. Expect a rich, deep color and a massive flavor profile that balances tropical fruit with cocoa, leather, and dark sugars. Bottled at cask strength, every drop is unfiltered and uncolored, giving you the full, unadulterated power from the barrel. This gift set, typically including a signature Kavalan tasting glass, is the ultimate offering for the discerning collector. It is an extraordinary taste of innovation.
