Do your eyes deceive you? Green tea? Here? Kamoti Green Tea Shot is a ready-to-drink, bottled green tea shot at 20% ABV, about half the strength of a typical straight shot. It's inspired by the classic green tea shot, a mix of Irish whiskey, peach schnapps, sour mix, and a splash of soda. Kamoti skips the mixing for you: it's naturally sweetened, gluten-free, and made at Laird & Co., one of America's oldest distilleries.
On the nose, it is sweet and fruity with a subtle tang. On the palate, it is smooth and refreshing. The sweetness of peach schnapps blends with the tartness of citrus, with underlying whiskey-like notes making themselves known. The finish is crisp, slightly tangy, and leaves a refreshing aftertaste that'll make you want another sip.
Kamoti is a fairly new name, started by two founders who watched bartenders in New York and New Jersey race to keep up with orders for this popular shot. Still, it's an easy recommend for those who want something a little different - something that refreshes without losing flavor.
Get Kamoti Green Tea Shot if you're in the market for something new. Yes, it's already tasty on its own, but we can easily imagine this elevating a cocktail or two in the right hands.
