The second-generation Jura Z10 is the most complete machine Jura builds for the home — a single-grinder superautomatic that treats hot and cold coffee as two genuinely different disciplines rather than one recipe served at two temperatures. In Aluminum Black, with a brushed aluminium front and a 4.3" colour touchscreen, it reads as appliance-grade hardware rather than a kitchen gadget.
What's new in Gen 2
Gen 2 expands the drinks list to 51 individually programmed specialities across four worlds of indulgence — Hot Classic, Light Brew, Cold Brew and Sweet Foam — and upgrades the grinder to the Professional Aroma Grinder P.R.G. 2+. The machine knows whether you asked for a hot or a cold speciality and shifts its grind accordingly, coarser for cold extraction, finer for espresso, returning to its starting position after each cycle. No menu diving, and no compromise recipe in the middle.
Cold Brew that actually tastes like cold brew
Rather than chilling hot coffee, the Z10 pulses high-pressure cold water through a coarse bed of freshly ground beans. You get the low-acid, rounded sweetness of a slow steep in under a minute — Cold Brew Espresso, Americano, Flat White, Latte Macchiato, Cortado and Mocaccino all sit on the same screen as their hot counterparts.
Key features
- 51 programmed specialities: Hot Classic, Light Brew, Cold Brew and Sweet Foam worlds, each individually adjustable and saveable.
- P.R.G. 2+ grinder: Automatically changes grind for hot versus cold extraction — the reason cold specialities on this machine don't taste like watered-down espresso.
- Pulse Extraction Process (P.E.P.®): Pulses water through the puck to lengthen contact time, which is what makes short shots on a superautomatic taste dense rather than thin.
- 3D brewing technology: Distributes water across the grounds from multiple directions for even saturation and fewer channelling faults.
- HP3 milk system: Fine-pored microfoam with one-touch rinse and cleaning, plus an extra-shot option on cappuccino, flat white and latte macchiato.
- Sweet Foam and chocolate-flavoured milk foam: Built-in recipes for sweetened foam and Mocaccino-style drinks. The Jura syrup and chocolate syrup attachments are sold separately.
- 4.3" colour touchscreen: Swipe navigation, Easy Mode for guests, and user profiles for households that don't agree on strength.
- Smart Quartet: Milk Assistant, Caffeine Regulator, Quality Assistant and Coffee Timer — the machine tracks its own consumables and your intake.
- Intelligent Water System (I.W.S.): RFID Claris Smart+ filter recognition, so the machine adjusts its own descaling schedule instead of trusting you to remember.
- App ready: Works with the J.O.E.® app via the Jura WiFi Connect V2 transmitter (sold separately).
- Powder chute: Bypass the grinder for decaf or a single-origin you don't want to purge the hopper for.
- 10 strength levels, a 5–16 g brewing unit and a 280 g bean hopper, so a lungo and a double espresso are dosed differently rather than stretched.
Who it's for
The Z10 Gen 2 suits the household that wants espresso-bar breadth without touching a portafilter, and that drinks cold coffee seriously enough to care how it's made. If your current machine's "iced" menu is just hot coffee over ice, this is the upgrade that fixes it.
