The Jura E6 is a Swiss super-automatic that pours 11 drinks at the touch of a button, from espresso and coffee to cappuccino and espresso macchiato. It grinds beans fresh for every cup, froths milk through an integrated system, and dispenses hot water for tea, all from a 2.8 inch colour display and a row of buttons.
Mornings run on repeat. The pods run out, the café has a lineup, and the coffee you wanted takes more steps than you have time for. The E6 removes the steps: you press the drink, it grinds, brews and froths, and the 64 ounce tank means you are not refilling halfway through a Saturday.
Highlights
- 11 one-touch drinks: espresso, coffee, a double of each, cappuccino, espresso macchiato, Caffè Barista, Lungo Barista, milk foam on its own, and hot water
- 10 coffee strength levels across a brewing unit dosing 5 to 16 grams, so a mild long coffee and a dense espresso are genuinely different drinks
- Pulse Extraction Process, pushing water through the grounds in short bursts to pull more flavour out of a short shot
- Multi-level AromaG3 grinder with a reworked cutting angle that reaches full aroma in half the grinding time
- Hot water at three temperatures, so tea is on the menu and not an afterthought
- 64 ounce tank and two drinks at once, which is what makes it a household machine rather than a single drinker's
- Ground coffee chute for a decaf cup without emptying the beans out
Who it's for
- Households replacing a pod machine or a café habit with something that grinds fresh and runs on beans
- Two or three people who want coffee and cappuccino from the same machine without anyone learning to steam milk
- Tea drinkers in the same kitchen, since hot water is built in
Want flat whites or latte macchiatos as saved one-touch presets? The E6's milk menu is cappuccino, espresso macchiato and plain milk foam, and it does not store named user profiles. Call us or visit the showroom and we will show you what does.
Living with it
Daily, clean the milk pipe and frother with a milk cleaning tablet, and empty the drip tray and grounds container. The machine prompts you and runs the cycle, and the cappuccino cleaner and cleaning container for it are both in the box. It is a few minutes a day at little cost, but it is a real step and worth knowing before you buy.
Then periodically, run a coffee cleaning tablet cycle when asked. A Claris Smart filter comes with the machine: fit it, test your water with the included strip and set the hardness on day one, and descaling stops being a regular event. The water container and waste container are dishwasher friendly.
FAQs
-
What drinks can it make?
Eleven in total: espresso, coffee, a double of each, cappuccino, espresso macchiato, Caffè Barista, Lungo Barista, a portion of milk foam on its own, and hot water. Flat white and latte macchiato are not on this machine's menu. -
How often does it need descaling?
Less often than you would expect, provided you keep a Claris Smart filter in the tank and set the water hardness when you first use it. The machine tracks usage and tells you when descaling or a filter change is due. -
What is the warranty in Canada, and who handles service?
The E6 carries a 2 year warranty on parts and labour. Service is coordinated through Coffee Warehouse: email support@coffeewarehouse.ca or call us toll-free and we take it from there, rather than leaving you to chase a call centre. -
Can I use oat or almond milk?
The milk pipe draws from whatever container you set it in, including a carton of plant milk. Results vary between brands more than with dairy, so bring your usual one to the showroom and we will run it through the machine. -
What size cups fit under it?
The coffee spout adjusts from 2.6 to 4.4 inches, covering espresso cups through standard mugs. Tall travel mugs are the exception, so bring yours to the showroom if that matters. -
Can I make decaf or use pre-ground coffee?
Yes. The E6 has a ground coffee chute beside the bean container, so a decaf cup does not mean emptying out your beans. The container holds 9.9 ounces.
