J.P. Wiser’s 28 Year Old Canadian Whisky is a crafted-in-Ontario celebration of the nineties, echoing the original spirit of the brand’s founder. Meticulously matured, this golden whisky opens with green apple skin, crème brûlée, ripe peach and cocoa, wrapped in pumpernickel and soft leather. On the palate, sultanas, cereal, crushed walnuts, French vanilla and toasted oak lead into shaved cinnamon, black pepper and a deep black-tea finish, with incense lingering in the empty glass. Gold at the 2025 Canadian Whisky Awards, it captures the convivial energy of its era in a complex, contemplative pour best enjoyed neat.
