During the 1970s there was no more prestigious Nicaraguan cigar brand than Joya de Nicaragua. The desire to celebrate that legacy gave birth to the Joya de Nicaragua for the 21st Century, the rich Antano 1970.
The full-bodied Nicaraguan Puro begins with a dark Nicaraguan Habano Criollo wrapper leaf. The meaty leaf hides finely aged Nicaraguan filler tobaccos that are tucked into a Nicaraguan binder. The resulting 6” x 54 Belicoso is a magnificent smoke that will have experienced smokers drooling with delight.
An astonishing amount of flavor blasts along the taste-buds once the Antano 1970 Belicoso is set to flame. Leather, pepper and spice notes easily flow through the well-crafted stick and merge with wood and earth undertones on the way to an amazingly robust finish. Gigantic taste with the body to match, the Antano 1970 is a connoisseur’s dream that lasts well beyond an hour.
The Joya de Nicaragua is an impressive tribute to the Joya de Nicaragua of old and is a must-smoke for those looking for a smoke that is both smooth and bold. Try with a solid Kentucky Straight Bourbon for a lush and savory pairing or with a velvety Syrah for an exciting interplay of sweet and spicy.
