Jefferson's Reserve Groth Reserve Cask Finish Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey is a limited-release bourbon that combines classic Kentucky bourbon character with the influence of Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon. After its initial maturation in new oak, the bourbon receives an additional nine-month finish in barrels previously used for Cabernet Sauvignon from Groth Vineyards, developing layers of dark fruit, caramel, vanilla, toasted oak and wine-driven tannins while retaining its underlying bourbon richness.
Food Pairing: Pair with grilled steak, braised beef, barbecue ribs, aged cheddar, roasted pecans, dried fruit or dark chocolate.
Tasting Notes: Rich and fruit-forward with caramel, dried fruit and dark berries layered with vanilla, toasted oak, warming spice and dry Cabernet-influenced tannins.
Nose: Caramel and vanilla mingle with dark berries, dried fruit, toasted oak and subtle wine-driven richness.
Palate: Rounded bourbon sweetness develops into dark fruit, caramel and vanilla, balanced by oak, gentle spice and structured Cabernet Sauvignon tannins.
Finish: Long and warming with lingering dark fruit, vanilla, oak and a pleasantly dry wine-influenced character.
