Introduction:
Jeff Runquist Z Zinfandel from Massoni Ranch in Amador County is a beautifully crafted wine that showcases the bold, ripe fruit character of Zinfandel with added depth from Petite Sirah. Aged in a blend of American and French oak, this wine delivers a rich and luscious experience with smooth tannins and a complex bouquet of fruit and spice.
Tasting Notes:
- Nose: Bursting with classic Zinfandel aromas of boysenberry, black raspberry, and olallieberry, complemented by hints of hazelnut, sandalwood, and almond paste from oak aging.
- Palate: Succulent red raspberry flavors with creamy caramel and toasty oak, creating a smooth and velvety texture.
- Finish: Long and satisfying, yet balanced enough to keep you reaching for another glass.
Pairings:
Pairs beautifully with barbecue ribs, grilled sausages, and slow-roasted pork. Its bold fruit and spice notes also complement hearty pasta dishes, wood-fired pizza, and aged cheeses, making it a versatile wine for a variety of meals.
