Named for the original gentleman distiller who founded the brand, Gentleman Jack Tennessee Whiskey is bottled at 80 proof and put through a second mellowing for added smoothness. Every batch starts from a measured recipe of corn, barley, rye and malt, along with iron-free limestone spring water drawn from a cave that runs two miles deep. The whiskey is distilled once, mellowed twice, then filled into handmade charred white oak barrels to mature, arriving with balanced oak, caramel and vanilla.
The pour shows light amber, with sweet vanilla, fruit and a touch of spice on a clean, soft nose. It is flavor forward across the palate and closes warm and short, with an exceptionally smooth, clean finish. Approachable enough for a range of tastes, it works for tasting, sipping and mixing, whether in a Gentleman's Sour or served neat. This 750 ml bottle is paired with a sour cocktail mixer.
