J. Lohr Estates Riverstone Chardonnay 2022 is a fresh, youthful, and beautifully textured cool-climate white wine that showcases the balanced character of the Arroyo Seco terroir. On the nose, it exhibits enticing aromas of ripe citrus, white nectarine, and crisp pear, seamlessly layered with subtle nuances of honey, white floral blossoms, and rich baking spices. The palate is medium to full-bodied, delivering a vibrant core of ripe Meyer lemon, citrus cream, and tropical fruit flavors. Thanks to barrel aging sur lie and regular lees stirring, it reveals a creamy texture alongside integrated oak, hazelnut, and delicate cocoa notes, all perfectly balanced by a tantalizing, stone-driven acidity that extends into a long, crisp finish.
Food Pairing: Delightful with fresh seafood risotto, chicken piccata, mussels in white wine sauce, creamy pasta dishes, or rich triple-cream brie cheese.
James Suckling
Cooked apples, ripe pineapple, honeysuckle and hints of caramel on the nose. Medium- to full-bodied with a creamy texture. Generous and rich, with a fruity and slightly waxy aftertaste. Drink or hold. Screw cap.
