Flavor, brewing & the story behind this coffee
What Does This French Roast Taste Like?
Choose Coroner's Coffee™ when smoky roast character is what you look forward to in a cup. Dark chocolate and roasted cocoa provide depth, while toasted caramel and molasses notes round out the profile. Those are tasting notes developed from the coffee and roast, rather than added flavoring.
- Origin: Honduras; 100% Arabica coffee.
- Roast: French roast, a dark roast style.
- Cup profile: Dark chocolate, roasted cocoa, toasted caramel and smoky molasses.
- Options: Whole bean or ground; 1 lb and 5 lb bags.
French Roast Describes the Roast; Honduras Is the Origin
French roast is a roasting style, not where the beans were grown. Our version starts with Honduran coffee and develops the deep roasted, smoky character that French roast drinkers seek. If you are choosing among Firehouse Coffee's dark roasts, this is the one to try for that smoky profile.
Coffee, Conversation and First-Responder Humor
As a retired firefighter and MedEvac flight paramedic, Mike Adams has shared plenty of kitchen-table conversations after difficult shifts. Coroner's Coffee™ is a nod to the bond among firefighters, paramedics, EMTs, nurses, police officers and the colleagues who help one another through the work.
The humor is dark. The coffee follows suit.
Official Cause of Death: French Roast.
