High West Rendezvous Rye is the flagship rye whiskey that honors the way rye used to be made—with a high rye content and full, uncompromised flavor. While most rye whiskeys today are barely legal with just 51-53% rye in the mash bill, Rendezvous Rye delivers authentic, bold rye character that pays tribute to the classic American rye tradition.
This award-winning blend combines straight rye whiskeys aged 4 to 7 years, creating a complex, spicy expression with exceptional balance. The name "Rendezvous" celebrates the annual gatherings of mountain men in the 1800s, where trappers, traders, and Native Americans came together in the Utah Territory to trade goods and share stories—much like this whiskey brings together the finest rye barrels.
Tasting Notes:
- Aroma: Rye spice, mint, and vanilla with hints of dried fruit, cinnamon, and toasted oak
- Palate: Bold and spicy with notes of black pepper, honey, dark fruit, baking spices, and charred oak
- Finish: Long and warming with lingering rye spice, caramel, and oak
Perfect for rye enthusiasts who appreciate authentic, high-rye whiskey with bold character. Excellent in classic cocktails like Manhattans and Old Fashioneds, yet complex enough to enjoy neat. A must-have from High West's acclaimed portfolio.
