This whisky feels calm, gentle, and thoughtfully made. It is a limited 2022 release of Hibiki, the blended whisky from Suntory. The blend was finished in sakura casks. These casks are made from Japanese cherry blossom wood. When you take the first sip, you notice a soft, floral sweetness. Notes of honey, pear, and citrus come through first. They taste light, not sugary. Nothing rushes. Everything feels balanced.
Bring the glass closer and you’ll pick up floral aromas right away. Cherry blossom leads, followed by ripe pear and bright citrus. A touch of gentle wood adds warmth. It never covers the lighter notes.
The texture feels smooth and delicate. It moves easily across your tongue. The finish is long and slowly grows warmer. Dried citrus and soft wood spice linger at the end.
You’ll enjoy this most when you drink it neat or with a few drops of water. It pairs well with sushi, light seafood, or fruit-based desserts. If you like subtle flavors and quiet balance, this one fits your style.
