Henschke, a family-owned winery established in 1868, has been a pillar of Australian winemaking for generations. Their dedication to crafting high-quality wines is evident in their meticulous vineyard management and traditional techniques. Johann's Garden pays homage to the early Silesian pioneers of the Barossa, many named Johann, whose perseverance laid the foundation for the region's thriving wine culture. The term 'garden' reflects the German word 'weingarten,' traditionally used by Barossa growers to describe their vineyards.
Wine Description
This vintage presents a medium ruby hue with purple undertones. The bouquet is deeply perfumed, featuring freshly cut red berries, rhubarb, cherry, and liquorice, intertwined with garrigue herbs, lavender, mace, and subtle white pepper notes. On the palate, it offers a rich, spicy profile with vibrant raspberry and mulberry flavors, balanced by fresh acidity and culminating in a long, elegant finish with fine, silky tannins.
