Founded in 1961 by Joe and Alice Heitz, Heitz Cellar is a cornerstone of Napa Valley's winemaking heritage, celebrated for pioneering single-vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon. Today, under the stewardship of Gaylon Lawrence Jr. and Master Sommelier Carlton McCoy, the estate continues to honour its classic roots while implementing organic and sustainable farming across its historic sites. The winery remains dedicated to crafting timeless, pure expressions of Napa Valley terroir that balance elegance with remarkable longevity.
Wine Description
This expression exhibits a striking garnet hue with deep magenta undertones in the glass. The bouquet opens with alluring aromas of crushed blackberry, cassis, and fresh violet, accented by subtle hints of dried thyme, cocoa, and sweet spice. On the palate, a refined core of dark plum, wild black fruit, and savoury herbs is framed by lively acidity and supple, structured tannins. Crafted as a 100% Cabernet Sauvignon, this medium-to-full-bodied wine achieves a harmonious balance between vibrant freshness and layered complexity, concluding with a long, elegant finish.
