Harvey & Harriet Red Blend 2023 is a luxurious, expressive, and incredibly overachieving red wine crafted by master winemaker Eric Jensen of Booker Vineyard. Named in heartfelt tribute to his parents, this Paso Robles powerhouse is designed to offer world-class depth and ultimate drinkability without the ultra-premium price tag. It pours a deep, dark garnet and opens with an alluring bouquet of wild blueberries, boysenberries, and crushed cassis, intricately accented by elegant notes of espresso bean, violets, tobacco leaf, and warm clove. On the palate, the wine is silky, seamless, and round, delivering full-bodied layers of ripe black cherry, rich cocoa nibs, and savory leather. Supported by a brisk, balancing acidity and tightly knit, chalky tannins, it masterfully melds the sophisticated structure of Cabernet with the brambly fruit characteristics of its blending partners before wrapping up on a long, balanced finish with a bitter tinge of dark chocolate.
Food Pairing: Flame-grilled ribeye steak, slow-braised beef short ribs, rosemary-roasted rack of lamb, smoky barbecue brisket, wood-fired meat-lovers pizza, or mature hard cheeses like aged Gouda and sharp Cheddar.
90 Points - James Suckling
Juicy with copious upfront fruit and an elegant underpinning of structure, this is a friendly cabernet-based blend with tones of peppercorns, currants and quietly sweet spices. Charming. Drink now.
