Introduction
Hampton Water Rose originates from France, within the Languedoc region of the south. Launched in 2018, the brand is a family business created by rock star Jon Bon Jovi and his son, Jesse Bongiovi, in collaboration with acclaimed French winemaker Gérard Bertrand. Their winemaking philosophy centers on disrupting the traditional wine category with a modern, approachable brand that captures the 'spirit of the Hamptons' while utilizing the expertise of the South of France.
Wine Description
This rose typically presents a pale, salmon pink colour. The sensory profile is fresh and lively, featuring a fragrant nose of red berries such as strawberry and raspberry, complemented by citrus notes, white flowers, and a distinct mineral character. On the medium-bodied palate, it delivers bright flavours of cherry and watermelon balanced by a crisp acidity and a touch of wet-stone minerality. The finish is long, dry, and refreshing, a result of meticulous ageing in new French oak barrels.
Varietal Composition: A traditional Southern French blend of 60% Grenache, 15% Cinsault, 15% Mourvèdre, and 10% Syrah.
ABV: Generally ranges between 13% and 14.2% depending on the vintage.
Ageing: Portions of the wine are aged for 30 to 60 days in new French oak to enhance texture and complexity.
Organic Status: While Gérard Bertrand is known for biodynamic viticulture, this specific wine is not certified organic.
