H. Upmann Magnum 50 – Smooth Cuban Cigar | Cigars Online Canada
The H. Upmann Magnum 50 is an elegant Cuban cigar known for its refined complexity, generous proportions, and signature smooth-to-medium H. Upmann character. Originally introduced as a Limited Edition in 2005, its success led Habanos S.A. to add the Magnum 50 to the brand’s regular portfolio in 2008.
Handmade with long-filler tobaccos from Cuba’s renowned Vuelta Abajo region of Pinar del Río, the Magnum 50 delivers a sophisticated smoking experience with creamy, woody and naturally sweet characteristics. Habanos officially classifies H. Upmann as light-to-medium in strength, making the Magnum 50 particularly appealing to smokers who value flavour and complexity without excessive intensity.
Flavour Profile
- Creamy cedar and wood
- Honey
- Toasted nuts and almond
- Caramel sweetness
- Baking spice
- Black tea
- Light earth
- Smooth, lingering finish
The exact profile naturally varies with age and individual cigar. In one highly rated tasting, Cigar Aficionado awarded the Magnum 50 93 points, highlighting honey, caramel, gingersnap, black tea and increasingly pronounced almond notes.
Why It Stands Out
The Magnum 50 combines H. Upmann’s traditionally elegant character with a substantial 50-ring-gauge format. The result is a long, leisurely Cuban smoking experience that offers plenty of room for the blend to develop.
Its combination of approachable strength and nuanced flavour makes it an excellent choice for both experienced Cuban cigar enthusiasts and those moving into larger premium Habanos.
