Groundwork B*tches Brew is a dark-roasted, USDA Organic whole-bean signature blend delivering bold, smoky coffee with dark chocolate and fleur de sel caramel notes.
This 12oz bag of Groundwork B*tches Brew whole bean coffee is part of Groundwork’s small-batch, daily-roasted lineup and is certified USDA Organic, Kosher, and Non-GMO. Crafted from directly traded, ethically sourced beans, this signature blend combines coffees of different origins and roast profiles to produce an intense, smoky cup that showcases dark chocolate depth balanced by a salted caramel sweetness.
How does this blend taste and what flavor notes should I expect?
Expect a concentrated dark-roast profile with a smoky backbone and concentrated sweet undertones. The blend leans toward bold, roasty flavors rather than bright or fruity acidity, making it suited to those who prefer a dense, savory cup.
- Primary notes: dark chocolate and fleur de sel caramel for a sweet-salty finish
- Body: full and syrupy, typical of a dark roast whole-bean coffee
- Acidity: low to moderate, with smoke-forward character
- Finish: lingering cocoa and touch of salted caramel
What makes this coffee organic and sustainably sourced?
Groundwork B*tches Brew is produced under USDA Organic standards and prepared from beans that meet non-GMO and kosher requirements. Groundwork emphasizes direct trade relationships and small-batch roasting to minimize environmental impact and support farmers.
- Certifications: USDA Organic, Kosher, Non-GMO
- Sourcing: directly traded, ethically purchased green coffee
- Roasting approach: small-batch, daily roast cycles for freshness
- Company footprint: efforts to reduce carbon impact across production
How should I grind and brew these whole beans for best results?
Because these are whole beans roasted dark, adjust your grind to the brewing method to avoid over-extraction and preserve the caramel notes. Use a medium-coarse grind for pour-over, coarse for French press, and fine for espresso to maximize the blend’s bold character without undesirable bitterness.
- Espresso: fine grind, 18–25 seconds extraction for concentrated crema
- Pour-over: medium grind to highlight chocolate and caramel balance
- French press: coarse grind, steep 4 minutes for full body
- Storage: keep in a cool, dark place in an airtight container to maintain freshness
What makes this signature blend different from other Groundwork coffees?
The GROUNDWORK B*tches Brew signature roast is built intentionally as a dark, jazz-inspired blend—darker and more smoke-forward than many of Groundwork’s lighter, brighter offerings. It combines beans from varied origins and roast curves to create a complex, layered dark roast with bakery-like sweetness and savory depth.
- Design: blended from multiple origins for a specific dark-roast profile
- Roast style: darker than average Groundwork blends for smoky intensity
- Flavor focus: chocolate, caramel, and a salted finish rather than floral or fruity notes
- Batch roasting: small batches to keep flavor consistent and fresh
Who is this for: Groundwork B*tches Brew is targeted at dark-roast lovers who want organic, ethically sourced whole beans with a bold, smoky profile. It’s ideal for home baristas who enjoy crafting espresso or robust brewed coffee, fans of dessert-like caramel-cocoa combinations, and anyone who prefers a low-acidity, full-bodied cup with a memorable finish.
