Jasmine Green Tea at a Glance
Our loose leaf jasmine green tea is Jasmine Grade #1 from Fujian, China, made with just two ingredients: green tea and jasmine flowers. It’s naturally low in caffeine, with a sweet, floral, aromatic flavour that suits slow afternoons, an after-dinner cup, or a pot shared with friends. Each 50 g bag makes about 25 cups, or about 50 if you steep the leaves a second time. It’s vegan and vegetarian.
Jasmine Green Tea Tasting Notes
The first thing you’ll notice is the aroma of fresh white jasmine, sweet and floral. It brews into a pale green cup of smooth green tea with real body, lightly grassy, with a natural floral sweetness. The finish is clean and soft, with no bitterness when you brew at the right temperature.

How jasmine tea gets its scent
Good jasmine tea starts with a fine spring green tea, picked between mid-March and mid-May. It meets jasmine blossoms from May, when the flowers bloom with their strongest aroma. Traditionally, layers of blossoms were stacked between layers of tea so the scent soaked in. Today, warm air carries the fragrance of the blossoms through the tea, giving them the sweet Jasmine aroma. That is why you see real jasmine flowers mixed in with the tea. The Jasmine flowers add more flavor as you steep your loose leaf tea.
About the Fujian region
Fujian is a coastal province in southeast China, and its capital, Fuzhou, is the heart of the country's jasmine tea. The city sits in a river basin ringed by hills, with a mild climate and plentiful rain that suit both tea bushes and jasmine flowers. Jasmine has been grown there since the Han dynasty, more than 2,000 years ago, and in 2014 the UN's Food and Agriculture Organization named Fuzhou's jasmine and tea culture a Globally Important Agricultural Heritage System. Jasmine tea from Fujian has one of the best reputations in China. This tea is grown at 450 to 1,500 m (1,500 to 4,900 ft) above sea level.
