Wine Description
The wine presents a deep mahogany copper colour with luminous amber and pale green reflections along the rim. An extraordinary and complex bouquet opens with intense aromas of dried fig, fruitcake, and orange marmalade, interwoven with rich notes of roasted walnut, dark caramel, pipe tobacco, espresso, and exotic baking spices. On the palate, it is full bodied, luxurious, and deeply concentrated, delivering a velvety, mouth-coating texture packed with flavours of honeyed fruit, dark molasses, and cocoa, all balanced by a core of energetic natural acidity. Framed by a rich, viscous mouthfeel gained from eight decades of slow cask oxidation, it concludes with an remarkably long, persistent, and harmonious finish. Composed of a traditional blend of native Douro grape varieties including Touriga Franca, Touriga Nacional, Tinta Roriz, and Tinta Barroca, this rare release offers an optimal drinking window of 2026–2040.
