Golden Barrel Pure Sorghum Syrup is a 16oz jar of 100% USA‑sourced sorghum syrup that delivers a rich, old‑fashioned sweetness and serves as a natural alternative to pancake syrups and molasses.
Harvested and produced in the United States, Golden Barrel’s sorghum syrup preserves a traditional, full‑bodied flavor that works across breakfast, baking, and savory recipes. This pantry‑ready syrup is free from artificial additives and high‑fructose corn syrup, offering a cleaner sweetening option for cooks who want depth of flavor and a touch of natural iron and minerals.
How does Golden Barrel sorghum syrup enhance pancakes and morning dishes?
Its smooth, slightly molasses‑like profile adds warm caramel and toasted notes without overpowering delicate flavors. Pour a modest amount over hot pancakes, waffles, or French toast for immediate aroma and taste elevation.
- Drizzle over pancakes and waffles for balanced sweetness and rich color.
- Stirs evenly into oatmeal or yogurt to add depth without clumping.
- Pairs well with butter or cream cheese for classic breakfast combinations.
Can I use this syrup in baking and savory cooking?
Yes. Golden Barrel sorghum syrup stands in as a substitute for molasses or brown sugar in many recipes, contributing moisture, color, and a nuanced sweetness. It holds up in sauces, marinades, and baked goods where you want a robust flavor backbone.
- Use in cookie and cake batters to increase tenderness and caramel notes.
- Blend into barbecue sauces and glazes for sticky, glossy finishes.
- Replace part of the sweetener in quick breads and muffins for a richer crumb.
What nutritional and ingredient information should I expect?
The jar contains pure sorghum syrup made from sorghum cane with no added preservatives or artificial sweeteners. It supplies natural minerals, including iron, and is an unrefined sweetener option compared with many processed syrups.
- Made from 100% sorghum—no high‑fructose corn syrup or artificial additives.
- Contains naturally occurring minerals such as iron and other trace nutrients.
- Produced and sourced in the USA, reflecting traditional Lancaster County methods.
How should I store and use my 16oz jar for best results?
Keep the jar sealed and stored in a cool, dry place; refrigeration is optional but can prolong peak freshness. Warm the jar briefly in a water bath if the syrup firms in cool temperatures to restore pourability.
- Store in a pantry away from direct sunlight for regular use.
- Gently warm in a bowl of warm water to loosen if thickened.
- Use a clean spoon to prevent contamination and extend shelf life.
