Glenrothes ‘The 15’ 15 Year Old is an exceptionally refined Speyside single malt Scotch whisky matured in European oak sherry-seasoned casks. It marries the delicate, fruity elegance of the distillery's core spirit with bold notes of bright spice and rich oak. Bottled at its natural colour, it exhibits a classic house character that balances deep sweetness with subtle complexity. Matured entirely in the historic warehouses of Rothes, this expression represents the meticulous cask selection process signature to the distillery.
Food Pairing: Roasted duck with plum glaze, dark chocolate tarts, sticky toffee pudding, sharp aged cheddar, and braised beef short ribs.
Tasting Notes : Burnished gold in appearance with a soft, rich, and mouth-coating, viscous feel.
Nose : Dark brown sugar, baked orchard fruits, and bright spices alongside hazelnut praline, candied orange peel, maple syrup, toasted oak, and soft leather.
Palate : Caramelized pears, dark chocolate, and sweet baking spices like cinnamon, clove, and cardamom, accompanied by pecan pie, crystallised ginger, and orange marmalade.
Finish : Rich, sweet, and silky with lingering bright spices and gentle oak tannins.
Serve : Serve neat in a Glencairn glass or with a few drops of pure water to open up the sweet spice and fruit complexity.
